Senzala Essex is hosting the first Senzala UK event of the year in Harlow, Essex. There will be capoeira workshops through Saturday and Sunday, with a big Brazilian Party on Saturday night, including a capoeira show, music and lots of dancing! Guests so far include Mestre Gato, Contra Mestre Pedro, Prof. Jilo and Prof. Julio Sanhaço.

This year's Group Senzala England's batizado for Leicester, Harlow, Cambridge and Norwich will take place in Leicester City. The batizado, which will be held on 12^th, 13^th and 14^th October 2007, will be Leciester's biggest ever Capoeira event and the first Batizado that will be open to the public and university students.

Teachers present will include: Mestre Gato, Mestre Ramos, Contra Mestre Pedro, Contra Mestre Chão (Lyon), Contra Mestre Bruzzi (Montpellier), Contra Mestre Grilo (Amsterdam), Contra Mestre Parente (Cordão de Ouro, Manchester) and plenty more to be confirmed.

Come & Celebrate 20 Years of Group Senzala in Europe. This will be the biggest Senzala event held in Europe so far. All the Masters of the group present together in Paris from 4^th to 7^th of October 2007.

Come and help give the lovely Kerrie a great send-off so that she'll come back here after her trip back to Australia. Senzala London are having a bbq at Melodia's house on Friday 27^th July from 7pm, and would like to invite all of our friends.

We are pleased to announce a very special guest teacher for Tuesday 24th July:

Mestre Celso is a living legend, one of the oldest active masters in Rio de Janeiro. He is 68 years old and has been teaching capoeira for 49 years. He was a student of Mestre Artur Emídio, one of the most respected masters in Brazil, and is a founder of a well-respected group Engenho da Rainha.

Come in your whites and don't be late!

Mestre Gato, one of the founder members and the leading teachers of Group Senzala, is coming down to London to give workshop.

Date: 2 July 2007 (Monday)

Time: 18:00 – 20:30 (some people will probably come a bit late, so its likely to start at 18:30)

Place: Newham Sixth Form College, Prince Regent Lane, Plaistow, E13 8SG London

Senzala Euskudi are holding their 2^nd Summer Capoeira Meeting & Batizado in the Basque Country from 21^st to 25^th of June 2007.

The event will be held in the gorgeous seaside town of Zarautz where there is good nightlife and gleaming yellow sand and great capoeira workshops..

Teachers present will include: Mestre Gato, Contra Mestre Pedro, Contra Mestre Parente (Cordão de Ouro, Manchester), Prof. Pedigree (Senzala, France), our own Prof. Sanhaço, and plenty more to be confirmed.

This event has a great atmosphere and is a big opportunity to meet students and teachers from around Europe.

Centro Cultural Senzala de Capoeira London invites you to participate in our weekend of workshops with Mestre Peixinho on 18^th-20^th May.

Mestre Peixinho has been teaching and developing the art of capoeira for over 40 years. Mestre Peixinho is one of founding members of Group Senzala, internationally renowned for his highly intelligent and technical capoeira skill.

This workshop weekend is an amazing opportunity to train and learn from Mestre Peixinho, with intensive classes for all levels, including berimbau, music classes, and great rodas.

Don’t forget… the Brazilian party on Saturday night with dance classes, live Brazilian music, dj and, of course, a capoeira demonstration.
